Susy is taking her riding skills and heading off to the wilds of Mongolia in June 2023 to ride 700+ kilometers and take on the longest annual charity endurance ride on the planet and all to benefit disadvantaged Mongolian children.

A Message from Susy:
I am beyond elated to share that I have been accepted to participate in the 2023 Gobi Gallop! And, I want to invite you to join me in this venture by sharing my excitement and vision.
What is the Gobi Gallop? A team of ten selected riders, each using two horses, will, over a 10- day span, cover 700+km. (434.96+ miles); it is a true endurance ride. We will ride, camp, laugh and perhaps shed a tear of exhaustion as we journey along the Kherlen or Kern river, flowing from Mongolia to China.
Why the Gobi Gallop? The short answer, it represents everything that I believe in; serving children, adventure, and testing limits in a new environment; in this case, the Mongolian Steppe. Plus, as an avid horsewoman, The Gobi Gallop offers the opportunity to stretch both my physical and mental limits while simultaneously opening my heart and yours to some of the world’s neediest children.

How did I learn about this? After hearing Julie Veloo, founder of the Veloo Foundation, speak on Endurance Horse Podcast, I knew I wanted to support her and the Veloo Foundation in any capacity. The Veloo Foundation’s mission is “to help orphans and other similarly disadvantaged children in the developing world and in Mongolia. They run Narnii Huuhduud Kindergarten (Children of the Peak) which serves 150 children from impoverished families who rely on scavenging to survive.” As an educator and mother, I immediately connected with her heart and deeply appreciated her belief in the importance of education for children, to break bonds of poverty.
My Goal? I have a goal of raising 3.5k to put towards the cause of this amazing foundation. My hope is that you will join me on this journey, though seemingly temporary, but in truth, one which will stay in our hearts as well as those of the children it serves. I would be so grateful if you would invest in these children for the long ride; the remainder of their lives. Much love and peace to all of you.
