G’day!
My name’s Sam. I’ve been living in Mongolia for 1 year already with my family, but now there’s a new adventure on the horizon. Together with 9 other riders, we’ll embark on a journey that takes us thundering across hundreds of kilometers of desert and steppe from Dalanzadgad to Ulaanbaatar – all in support of the Veloo Foundation Children of the Peak Sanctuary. This 10 day journey supports the foundation’s amazing work to build and operate kindergartens, providing care to children who would otherwise be left at home with their young siblings or taken to the nearby dump to scavenge.
Growing up in Scone, the horse capital of Australia, I’ve spent enough time in the saddle to know that this will be a real challenge unlike anything I’ve done before. There’ll be tears, tantrums, exhaustion, and a sore bum – and then another 9 days of riding after that! However what we’re supporting is a legacy for the community, established by riders before us and hopefully many more over the coming years.
Finally, a shout out to my wife Melissa. While she won’t be on a horse, I couldn’t do this without her. It’s 10 days of riding but she’s giving me 200 days of support to get there. In turn, your generous support will help us continue to ensure that care is available to children who live in the harshest of conditions and need it most.

Thank you all!
My fundraising goal this year is $10,000.00
Every $$ will feed, warm and educate a child who otherwise would be cold, hungry and without hope.
Please join "Team Sam" and together let's make a difference for the children and families living in abject poverty and scavenging in the garbage to survive.
NOTE - Qualified US and Canadian Donors will receive a tax receipt for their donation and 100% of all donations in support of the Gobi Gallop go directly to help the children!!
