Who am I?
I am a husband, dad, runner, mining engineer and leader, getting on towards 50, who has been traveling to Mongolia since 2007 supporting the development and growth of the Oyu Tolgoi underground copper/gold project and teams.

Why am I competing in the Mongolian Sunrise to Sunset 100km ultramarathon on 10th August?
It's a mental and physical challenge. It's my first time competing over this distance & in these conditions, so I'll be pushing my limits. I am grateful for my friendships, experiences, and opportunities that were given to me, and with this run, I would love to give back to the community of Mongolia. And I can't wait to explore a new part of the world.

Why have I partnered with the Veloo Foundation?
Chelvan Veloo and I started on the Oyu Tolgoi project at the same time in 2007. He is a true gentleman and a professional, and I am inspired by the purpose, the work, and the impact of the Veloo Foundation.
The Veloo Foundation supports various projects and initiatives focused on improving the lives of children and families who survive by scavenging at the Ulaanchuuluut garbage dump in Mongolia and other impoverished people in the area. 100% of the money raised goes to the cause.
