Hello you awesome human, thanks for visiting my page!
Anyone who knows me knows I am always down for an adventure. Several years ago I thought of going to Mongolia to ride horses, but did not exactly know how to go about it. The thought somewhat faded, but was always there. I continued traveling around and last winter met someone who mentioned the Gobi Gallop. I was ecstatic, this was an actual trip people could do?! From the moment I heard about this trip I have not stopped imagining how incredible it would be to ride 700km in 10 days across vast wilderness. Yes, that will mean a sore butt, lots of chaffing, and some blisters, but no great adventure happens without a bit of pain.
The best part about the Gobi Gallop is not only does it allow for awesome experience, it also helps to feed, educate, and provide health care to the children of Ulaanbaater, the capital of Mongolia. 100% of your donation will go to the Peak Sanctuary Kindergarten, which helps these children whose families make a living by scavenging the city dump. Any amount is helpful and very much appreciated.
When I am not dreaming of the great Mongolian adventure to come, I am out on the Bering Sea in Alaska collecting data on commercial fishing vessels. The Bering Sea can be rough, but it's worth it to be able to the children of Ulaanbaatar.
