Making a Difference One Child at a Time
My Motorcycling Adventure days started with a 1980 cx 500. Traveling across Nevada from Utah to California on a bike with a 1.9 gallon fuel tank is not a great idea! Fortunately being in my late 20’s made adversity a challenge and my girlfriend (now wife) Peggie was as as open to the adventure as I was! Running out of gas on Hwy 50, unable to find a hotel, driving for 12 hrs straight didn’t dampen our desire to do more of this insanity.
Sold the CX 500 and purchased a 1981 BMW r65 on the European delivery program. We picked up the bike in Munich in the Summer of 1981 and did 5000 miles thru Europe and the the British Isles.
What a great time! Still have the Bike!
Two beautiful daughters and 2 grandchildren now limit Peggy’s desire to hit the road with me but I still love to travel and explore on 2 wheels. The Steel Horse Gallop is just the kind of trip I have been looking for. Being able to couple my wanderlust with the ability to raise funds for Julie’s Program to build kindergartens for Mongolian children ticks off a couple of boxes! I hope you can help us be part of this extraordinary contribution to the children of Mongolia as we take 10 days to explore their beautiful country!
