In May, 2022 Heidi will set off on an expedition of unparalleled distance and importance. She will be riding 3,600 kilometers across the breadth and width of Mongolia and all of it to help disadvantaged Mongolian children who are being helped by Veloo Foundation's Children of the Peak Sanctuary Project.

A New, Record-Breaking Mongolian Adventure!
Hello. I’m Heidi Telstad from Canada.
In 2016 I embarked upon one of my greatest equine adventures in Mongolia. Riding in the Mongol Derby was fast paced and we covered over a 1000km in just over a weeks time. Even though I was able to see some of the most beautiful open terrain, I wasn’t able to fully live within it. I became enthralled with the sturdiness and endurance of the Mongolian horses and the surrounding culture. Ever since I left Mongolia, I have been trying to figure out a way to get back there and fully immerse myself in centuries old traditions.
Then along comes Julie Veloo with this amazing idea to spend almost three months riding horses from the south east of Mongolia all the way to the northwest. I am (we are) getting this amazing opportunity to discover all the hidden gems and wonders of the locals in each community we pass through in one epic horseback riding adventure - the longest charity ride in history!
I’m hoping that by bringing awareness of the Veloo Foundations efforts to provide a school and haven for the Mongolian children who survive on the garbage dump in Ulanbaatar that I’ll at a minimum be able to reach my fundraising goal.
