In June, 2023 Cecilia will return to Mongolia to undertake the longest annual charity endurance ride on the planet. She will be riding an average of 70 km / day for 10 days on just two horses in order to raise money to help disadvantaged Mongolian children who are being helped by Veloo Foundation's Children of the Peak Sanctuary Project.
Another Mongolian Charity Adventure!
Hello. I’m Cecilia Stone (Cele) from Australia.
As a child my mum would often threaten me with being sent to upper and outer Mongolia when I was naughty. Clearly I wasn’t naughty enough, however a few years ago I finally sent myself. To say I fell in love with the country, the horses and the people is an understatement. There is something so magical about this country that it just fills my soul. The people are the most welcoming, hospitable people I’ve ever met. Quick to help, quick to laugh and quick to give you whatever they can to help you. The horses, just magnificent.
Now I’m blessed with the opportunity to ride the length and breadth of Mongolia to raise funds for the Veloo Foundation. I’m excited to part of fund raising for this incredible foundation that is changing the lives and futures of families, whose survival is dependent on what they can scavenge from the dump. The Veloo Foundation provides education, food, clothing and a safe place for the children whilst helping the adults with employment and vocational training. They’re building infrastructure such as toilets and shower facilities. They organise and coordinate food and clothing drives. Just have a look for yourself and you will see what incredible, worthwhile and extraordinary work is being done.
