Mongolian Adventure!
Climate change and the Covid pandemic have had far reaching impacts across our planet, none of our global families have been left unaffected.
Fortunately we in Canada, the United States, Europe and the western world have many supports to see us through these difficult times, others across the world have not been as fortunate.
There are some, one remarkable woman in particular, Julie Veloo, of the Veloo Foundation, who has taken up the cause to bring hope and help to those displaced and marginalized children of Mongolia without any such supports.
The Blue Wolf Totem Expedition is an amazing opportunity to raise funds for the Veloo Foundation’s Children Of The Peak Sanctuary Project. Their initiative is dedicated to empowering, and changing the lives of disadvantaged children of displaced nomadic families in the Ulaanbaatar neighbourhood in Mongolia who have been forced to survive from what they and their families could scavenge from the local dump. The Veloo Foundation’s commitment to feed, educate, nurture and contribute to healing through love; all the while advocating for their mothers to find new purpose and meaning in their lives, is nothing short of miraculous.
As a young girl I vividly remember seeing images of beautiful Mongolian nomadic people on horseback, traversing the incredible Mongolian steppe, and deciding one day that I would experience the culture of these magnificent humans and their wild Mongolian horses.
I’ve travelled extensively, though not as a typical tourist. I love wilderness trekking, especially at altitude. I am called to more remote locations and am interested in cultures and peoples who live in close proximity and relationship with the natural world.
To me there is no better feeling of connection with nature than to ride the wilderness on horseback where both the horse and I feel most at home.
From my own commitment to support and advocate for disadvantaged and at risk children and youth throughout my career in social services, to my own wild passion and love for horses and their wild nature, I feel deeply honoured to have been invited onto this expedition in support of these marginalized Mongolian children and families,
Each of us expedition participants has made a commitment to raise $4,000USD in support of the project.
My hope is to FAR surpass this goal. Together we may FAR exceed our goal in support of Children Of The Peak Sanctuary Project.
All donations by Canadian and US residents will be issued a tax deductible receipt for their donation.
100% of your donation will be exclusively in support of the children.
Please join me in bringing hope and healing to the children, and to honour the selfless service of Julie Veloo and her team at the Veloo Foundation in support of Children Of The Peak Sanctuary Project.
