Mongolian Adventure!
Do you ever watch National Geographic and travel shows and wonder how anyone gets those kinds opportunities? I've wondered and dreamed about that for years. My name is Alysha and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I'm a hair stylist and horse and travel enthusiast taking on the opportunity of a lifetime. I've been riding my entire life, I got my first pony when I was 7, who I still have 25 years later. My goal in life is to see the world from horseback, so far I've ridden in Canada, Ireland, Spain, France, Andorra, and Crete. Each ride more challenging than the last.
This is not just about me fulfilling a dream of riding in Mongolia (trust me, the dream was never to leave my husband, horses, pets and loved ones for 3 very long tough months) This is bigger than me. It's helping families who have lost everything, their homes, their lands, their cultures and traditions. Horses are a big part of my life, but not nearly as big a part as they are to Mongolians, their day to day lives and their deeply-rooted culture of horsemanship. Being a part of helping these last remaining true nomads find their way in this new world they are suddenly lost in just feels right. As an old saying goes "A Mongol without a horse is like a bird without wings".
I believe the rides I've done have helped me grow and better myself as a person, now I get to ride to help better the lives of others less fortunate. Please help me help them by donating to this great cause.
