Riding the Gobi Gallop for the third time isn’t about ticking a box or chasing a medal — it’s about returning to something that feels deeply grounding and real. Each year the Gobi strips life back to the essentials: horse, land, resilience, and trust. Going back again is a choice to keep testing my limits, to honour the partnership between horse and rider, and to reconnect with a place that has shaped me both physically and mentally. The Gobi doesn’t get easier — but I keep showing up because it reminds me who I am when comfort is removed and purpose remains.
Alongside the personal challenge, I’m riding the Gobi Gallop for the third year in support of the Veloo Foundation. Veloo works to improve access to education, healthcare, and essential resources for children and families in remote Mongolian communities. Riding through these regions brings the reality of isolation into sharp focus, and supporting Veloo allows this journey to give back to the people who call this land home. The Gobi Gallop is a test of endurance — but it’s also an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting impact beyond the finish line.
